If you are a fan of wandering around in a market, then a visit to the Grand Central Market in downtown Paramaribo, on the ‘Waterkant’ is a must. There are 3,000 permanent stalls or more, with meat, fish and vegetables, as well as herbs, beverages and household items. On the first floor you can work your way through narrow paths, all of which are full of stuffed clothing stands. The market is open from Monday to Saturday from five o'clock in the morning until five in the afternoon. The Central Market is also within walking distance of Hotel Krasnapolsky.
